Dental Implantology is concerned with rehabilitation of patients with missing teeth by the implantation of artificial materials. This short course aims to provide a sound practical foundation for Implantology practice based on practical clinical training. The programme of study covers: - Treatment planning, surgical placement of implants and restoration of missing teeth using implants.
Detailed Description
The School of Clinical Dentistry is directly connected to the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital and adjacent to the Royal Hallamshire Hospital where patient treatment is carried out. The Charles Clifford Dental and Northern General Hospitals Sheffield were the first centres in the UK to use modern dental implants ad modem Brnemark and have clinical and technical expertise that dates back to 1984. Currently we treat over 200 new patients per year. Staff from both Restorative and Surgical disciplines are involved with course delivery.
Our teaching is informed by the research activities of the staff and the School has received top ratings in recent teaching and research assessments and is consistently highly rated for student satisfaction.
