Booking for 2024 Meet and Greet service from Manchester Airport

This online booking for the Meet & Greet (airport pick-up) service from Manchester Airport to Sheffield will confirm your place on one of our coaches from Manchester Airport to Sheffield. You will be allocated to a coach in accordance with the flight information you provide with this form. The cost of the service is GBP 25 for students and GBP 30 for each accompanying relative or friend. Please note you must make a separate booking for each person accompanying you on the coach.

Coaches will depart from Manchester Airport at 11.00 and 15.00. When allocating your coach time we allow two hours for collection of baggage and clearing immigration, so we are unable to accept bookings for students whose flights are scheduled to arrive in Manchester after 13.00 local time. When you have filled in the form and placed the item in your basket you must then check out and pay in order to complete your booking. When you have done this you will receive an email from the Online Store to confirm that your booking has been successful. Following this, you will receive an email from the Global Campus Team confirming details of your coach time and further information for when you arrive in Manchester Airport. Please allow five business days for receipt of this email. If you do not receive it in this time, please contact us at [email protected].

The closing date for bookings is midnight on 9 September 2024. Any cancellations must be received by this time. We will then contact you to arrange a refund. If you do not contact us by this date we cannot guarantee a refund.

Accommodation packages for students taking part in Orientation Week, September 2024

Orientation Week takes place from 16 to 20 September 2024. It includes information sessions, events and activities aimed at helping new students make friends and settle into life in Sheffield. The programme is non-mandatory, but many students find it helpful to familiarise themselves with their new surroundings before all students arrive at the University for Welcome Week (23 - 27 September).  For full details of the programme, please see our web page at www.sheffield.ac.uk/new-students/orientation.
 
If you require accommodation during Orientation Week, you must book and pay for this in advance. The accommodation is in our Ranmoor & Endcliffe residences. There are several packages available depending on when you will arrive in Sheffield. All accommodation packages run through to 10am on Friday 20th September, when you will need to move to your permanent accommodation. In most cases, if you are moving into University accommodation for the rest of the semester/year, you will be able to move into your room on Friday 20th September even if this is earlier than the date stated on your accommodation contract. 
 
There is a minimum stay of two nights, so accommodation booking for Thursday 19th September only is unfortunately not possible. Please note that no meals are included in the booking. However, you are welcome to prepare your own meals in the shared kitchen. There is also a wide variety of shops, cafes, and restaurants within the local area - Broomhill, Sharrow Vale, and Ecclesall Road are only a short walk from your accommodation. Across the university campus you’ll find our diverse range of food & drink venues, serving everything from Mexican inspired burritos to classic pub meals . All accommodation for students taking part in Orientation Week is en-suite and single occupancy. Most accommodation blocks will be mixed-gender. If you wish to stay in single-sex accommodation (male only or female only) please select this option on the booking form. If it is not possible, we will contact you separately to inform you of your options.
