The Department of Biomedical Science is a large and expanding department with an excellent record for both teaching and research.  Our main areas of research in aspects of cell and developmental biology and molecular physiology attract academic staff of international scientific standing. 

Two leading research centres, The Centre for Developmental and Biomedical Genetics and The Centre for Stem Cell Biology, are part of the Department.
