An introduction to the basic concepts of manual turning processes. Explore and realise the progression from design to manufacture. This is a practical course with hands-on activities on manual lathes.

The learner will gain an understanding of the principles employed in manual turning and the safety aspects of using a manual production machine in the manufacturing industry. The learner will also gain an understanding of the different tools and processes required to produce a component on a manual lathe.
