This series of programmes gives students the chance to watch and learn from a range of practical demonstrations showing approved examination techniques.
Focusing on the abdominal area, this video shows how the traditional examination skills of inspection, palpation and auscultation are used with infants and children.
It covers: a methodical examination of the cold abdomen, with examples of common physical signs and explanations of their causes techniques used in the acute abdomen the particular challenges presented by infants, and the necessary steps to take.
These are demonstrated while looking at examination findings in common disorders such as pyloric stenosis, intussusception and constipation. In each case, animated graphics present the student with clear, accurate images.
