Stepping Into Technical Leadership ProgrammeDescriptionThis programme is for technicians aspiring to supervisory / management roles. The programme will be designed to develop the skills that will help delegates to successfully make this transition and to be effective in their new roles. Aims and Objectives This programme of workshops is targeted at individuals who are stepping into leadership roles for the first time. Even for the most gifted individuals, the process of becoming a leader is a challenging, albeit rewarding, journey of continuous learning and self-development. The initial challenge along the path is so fundamental that we often overlook it: becoming a leader for the first time. This transition has become even more challenging since 2020 and the sudden shift to hybrid and virtual working. The development of trust-building and communications skills have become even more essential in this new working world. This programme of workshops focuses on some of the key differences between being a team member / technician and leading a team. It looks at the psychological transition and difference in focus and time allocation that new leaders often find most challenging. The workshops are stimulating and aim to engage delegates in varied activities and discussions.
