This new resource for healthcare workers has been developed by the University of Sheffield and NHS East Midlands specifically to meet the learning needs of carers of patients near the end of their life.
The workbook is interactive with a mix of material to read and exercises to complete. It comprises six sections:
• definitions of palliative care
• patients and carers experiences of living with life-limiting illnesses
• communication skills
• delivering palliative care in different care contexts
• recognising the dying phase
• loss and bereavement.
Weve also provided some useful references and resources and an online test to assess your learning. You’ll be issued with a certificate if you successfully complete the test.
