Intro to Human Osteology Short Course
A hands-on, lab-based course which will introduce the subject of human osteology using archaeological examples and materials
Led by doctoral researchers in Human Osteology and department staff Dr Petra Verlinden and Dr Elizabeth Craig-Atkins, the course will provide a broad introduction to the skills and techniques of skeletal analysis of archaeological human remains. Ranging from basic anatomy to skeletal pathology, this course is ideal as a taster for people interested in pursuing further study in biological anthropology/human osteology; a refresher for those who have previously worked with archaeological human remains; or an opportunity for amateur enthusiasts to learn more about what goes on in the osteology lab!
