You may become an external borrower to use the Library facilities and have borrowing entitlements. Please select the relevant option and complete the questionnaires at the next stage of the booking.

You may become an external borrower without charge if you fall within one of these categories:

• Graduates of the University of Sheffield *
• Members of the University Court or Council
• Members of staff at the British Film Institute
• Teachers or FE lecturers employed in South Yorkshire; associate University tutors/mentors
• Clergy in the Sheffield area
• Occasional staff who are teaching on University courses
• NHS trainee groups attached to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals
• Members of the Geographical Association
• Members of the Medico-Chirugical Society
• University company staff
• SCONUL Access member

*Only those who have obtained an undergraduate degree or postgraduate doctorate, degree, diploma or certificate.

If you do not fall in to any of the above then please select the 3 months or 1 year membership options.

For all categories: Please bring proof of employment/membership when colecting your ticket. We will also need proof of address and photo id.

Terms & conditions - As an external borrower, you undertake to observe the Library Regulations and Code of Practice, including the commitment to return items when due or recalled and to meet any costs or charges arising from the use of the service.

Please note: In the following stages of this booking you will be asked to confirm that you accept the terms and conditions as stated above.

Details of collection: You may collect your library card before 7pm Monday - Friday from St Georges, Royal Hallamshire Hospital and Western Bank Library, or if you wish to collect your card at the weekend, you can do this between 12-6pm at Western Bank Library.
